Welcome back to another Monster Siege devlog!

This update is smaller in terms of new playable content, but it focuses on improving the overall quality and atmosphere of the game. I've been working mainly on the lighting, fixing several bugs, and polishing some parts of the map.

And at the end, there's also a small sneak peek at something new I'm currently working on.

💡 Lighting Improvements

One of the main things I wanted to improve was the lighting.

Some areas of the map were either too dark, too bright, or simply didn't have the atmosphere I wanted for the game. I've adjusted several lights around the warehouse to make the environment feel more consistent and immersive.

The goal is to keep the dark and abandoned feeling of the warehouse while still making important areas visible enough for the player.

After

There are still some areas I want to continue improving in future updates, but I'm much happier with the current result.

🔧 Bug Fixes & Improvements

Alongside the lighting changes, I've also spent some time fixing bugs and improving different parts of the game.

Some of these changes are small, but together they should make the experience feel smoother.

Changes

  • Fixed several minor bugs around the map.
  • Improved lighting in multiple areas.
  • Fixed the shoot direction "it was lower than the gun itself so sometimes you hit the ground"
  • Adjusted some objects and environmental details.
  • Improved some visual inconsistencies.
  • General map polishing and small optimizations.

I'm going to keep working on bugs as I find them, especially while adding new areas and mechanics to the game.

👀 Weapon Rework Sneak Peek

I'm also working on a rework of one of the weapons currently in the game.

The original model was one of the earlier assets I made for Monster Siege, and I felt it could use an upgrade.

Instead of simply replacing the weapon, I'm redesigning the model while keeping the original idea behind it.

Here's an early look at the reworked version:

The model is done but some details, textures and animations is in the oven yet so i can't show it.

I'll show more of the rework in a future devlog.

What's Next?

There are still several things I want to add and improve in Monster Siege.

I'm currently focusing on expanding the gameplay, improving the warehouse and adding more variety to the player's arsenal.

The "Administration" area will be more deeper than the warehouse it self and i will move some areas into that and probably the big update will be splited in half, 0.0.2 will have "Administration" and the 0.0.3 will have "Basement and Electricity"

And for my last coment i want you to know that the story is ended, i hope i can added in the next update .

Thanks for playing and following the development of Monster Siege!

See you in the next devlog.
